I am Awesomely Amethyst 1-10

Www.scrapbooksteals.stealnetwork.com has a series of 10 sketches, if you complete all 10 you are entered for a draw of great prizes. Due to surgery and life I haven’t been actively participating til this round of sketches! Sketch 9 has a unique story because there are no pictures, due to the fact that I never met my daughter that I had made this page for, and instead wrote her a letter! It was very therapeutic for me! I am sorry that WordPress jumbled the pictures so they are not in order but I assure you all 10 are there! I am very proud of all the pages, and look forward to many more series with www.scrapbooksteals.com in the future!

Enjoy

Some shopping on holiday!

Woohoo! My mom took me to a little scrapbook store in Nanaimo called Crafty Capers. They are a cute little store that specializes in rubber stamps, and stamping materials! I got 2 cuttlebug folders that I’ve never seen before, plus I got some super cute Hero Arts stamps (Cowgirl ones, oh so cute!), and a Cricut Cartridge called Designer’s Calendar… and some stickles I needed to replace as mine was almost empty!!! I am excited to play with my new toys and create my new creations!

Just had to share my good fortune! Happy Crafting!

For my card I started with a burgandy DCWV base I made from cardstock, I then cut a wreath using my Joys of The Season Cricut cartridge at 5 inches. I added skittles in red for the holly berries (I have an abundance of skittles from when they were ALL the rage! so any excuse to use them is ok by me!!) and coloured my bow using copics, as well as the leaves in the image. I finished with a stickled Santa hat, and a simple sentimnt JOY AND PEACE stamped in Stampin Up’s whisper white!! 3 for 1

http://www.2sketches4you.blogspot.com/ has a gorgeous sketch by
Kazan this week..and we were to make a unique edged card!

http://www.kjsstamppad.blogspot.com/ has her weekly color chef
challenge, black, bright green and white …
http://fantabulouscricut.blogspot.com/ has a sewing challenge..whether
it be real or faux!

So I combined the 3 challenges to make my card! I started by cutting my
shape out with my cricut…I used Home Decor, the Marquis, on fit
to page, and then folded it in half to make a card! (in black cardstock!)
then I cut some bright green paper and edged it with my loopy
Martha stewart punch, added some green and black spotty ribbon, and
a bright green button. I stamped my sentiment KEEP YOUR SPARKLE in white.
Then I stamped my cute lil’ stamp, and set to work on colouring her
in greens! I added stickles to her wings, and around the edge of my
card, along with some white faux stitching!
Enjoy,

Here are the details of my card : first I used an AiFactory Digistamp, the pirate, which you could WIN! I coloured him up with my spica pens, and copics…so fun! He is so freaking adorable! I love him!! Then I cut a circle out around him, and traced the circle in gold (come on, he’s a pirate!)…I embossed my gold paper (that I thought looked like gold coins) and adhered to my card base. Then I used DCWV All About Boys stack, for my pirate word backdrop. I adhered Mr Pirate to my card, and then using the Stampin Up word window punch, punched out the words SCURVY PIRATE! Totally fitting hey! Anyhoo, here is my card!!!

Mojo Monday!

http://mojomonday.blogspot.com has an awesome sketch today! I took my hand at it by making this wedding card for my best friend to give to a friend of hers who is getting married! She is getting married on a beach, so that was my inspiration! Hope you enjoy! I am in a bit of a rush right now, making supper..so will put up the details later! 🙂 Thanks, C-Cubed

ColourQ

http://colourq.blogspot.com had a great colour palette yesterday, and I used it to create the following page of my daughter and my dad. I worked hard on this layout, lots of elements went into making it what it is. I suppose I should tell you the colour combination first hey? It was pink passion, pretty in pink, basic grey, white and basic black!

Ok so here is what I did… I took a piece of basic grey paper, some pretty in pink, and some pink passion. I also found this cool patterned paper that had black and what looked to me like pretty in pink flourishes all over it! I layered the 2 pinks with the patterned paper on the grey. I then doodled some scallops along the side… I didn’t like that, but hey, it brought in the white. So I adhered my photo, a darling photo I might add 😉 and a bunch of primas..to the corner. Then I bling bling blinged it…adding bling flourishes, bling to my butterflies, etc etc. Then I made a small journal block, matted it in the pretty patterned paper, followed by some more bling! I stamped 2 butterflies, and coloured them with my copics. I then cut MOMENTS out of my Cricut Botanicals Lite cartridge, traced around the letters in black to make them pop a bit more. Then “To always cherish” was stamped with an Autumn Leaves stamp set! I added a little more hand doodling, and distressed the edges with versa magics white cloud ink! There ya have it! A gorgeous new layout of my daughter and dad!! 🙂 Enjoy!!!
