I am Awesomely Amethyst 1-10 has a series of 10 sketches, if you complete all 10 you are entered for a draw of great prizes. Due to surgery and life I haven’t been actively participating til this round of sketches! Sketch 9 has a unique story because there are no pictures, due to the fact that I never met my daughter that I had made this page for, and instead wrote her a letter! It was very therapeutic for me! I am sorry that WordPress jumbled the pictures so they are not in order but I assure you all 10 are there! I am very proud of all the pages, and look forward to many more series with in the future!

Some shopping on holiday!

Woohoo! My mom took me to a little scrapbook store in Nanaimo called Crafty Capers. They are a cute little store that specializes in rubber stamps, and stamping materials! I got 2 cuttlebug folders that I’ve never seen before, plus I got some super cute Hero Arts stamps (Cowgirl ones, oh so cute!), and a Cricut Cartridge called Designer’s Calendar… and some stickles I needed to replace as mine was almost empty!!! I am excited to play with my new toys and create my new creations!

Just had to share my good fortune! Happy Crafting!

ColourQ had a great colour palette yesterday, and I used it to create the following page of my daughter and my dad. I worked hard on this layout, lots of elements went into making it what it is. I suppose I should tell you the colour combination first hey? It was pink passion, pretty in pink, basic grey, white and basic black!

Ok so here is what I did… I took a piece of basic grey paper, some pretty in pink, and some pink passion. I also found this cool patterned paper that had black and what looked to me like pretty in pink flourishes all over it! I layered the 2 pinks with the patterned paper on the grey. I then doodled some scallops along the side… I didn’t like that, but hey, it brought in the white. So I adhered my photo, a darling photo I might add 😉 and a bunch of the corner. Then I bling bling blinged it…adding bling flourishes, bling to my butterflies, etc etc. Then I made a small journal block, matted it in the pretty patterned paper, followed by some more bling! I stamped 2 butterflies, and coloured them with my copics. I then cut MOMENTS out of my Cricut Botanicals Lite cartridge, traced around the letters in black to make them pop a bit more. Then “To always cherish” was stamped with an Autumn Leaves stamp set! I added a little more hand doodling, and distressed the edges with versa magics white cloud ink! There ya have it! A gorgeous new layout of my daughter and dad!! 🙂 Enjoy!!!

Happy Monday!

So here is the scoop, my son (3 1/2) is going camping with his grandparents for THREE days. Leaving me with my 6 month old during the day, who naps constantly and the time to do some challenges! WOOOOOOOOT! I am excited to have a little me time that is more than just a half hour here, or an hour there! I am going to do as many challenges as I possibly can and hopefully get the numbers and comment numbers up on my blog! When I hit a certain amount, I will most definately do a blog candy! So for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday be prepared for a lot of creativity to come outta c-cubed!!!

And onto Monday challenges!!  has an awesome sketch by Kazan! Have I mentioned how much I love her stuff, wow, beyond talent!! the following picture as inspiration : I see fuschia and navy and white, and judging by her creation, those are the colours! So fun, we will see what I can come up with.  has a challenge to do either faux or real stitching on your card challenges us to use 4 stars on our creation!  is inspired by World Cup soccer, so some kind of sport in your creation…this one might stump me for a bit…lol  has a challenge to incorperate ORANGE and any type of bug into your card!

Phew thats a lot to do today, so I better start cracking!! If I don’t get it all done today, I will finish up tomorrow morning when daughter naps and my son is off camping!

 Happy Monday, C-Cubed 🙂

new scrapbook pages!

I got on a roll scrapbooking the other day, and here are a few pages I came up with!

colour challenge – new scrapbook page!
has a challenge of brown, green and white! I decided rather than making a card, I would do some scrapbooking! I haven’t done a new page in a while, so figured this was the perfect opportunity! I started with a brown piece of bazzill in java. I then set to work on my layout. I had a picture I wanted to use, of my son in the national park across from my parents house. So, the earthy elements of this colour challenge were right up my alley. I cut OUTSIDE and NATURE using Graphically Speaking Cricut cartridge, in white. I then used Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge, and cut the tree, on border function, 3 times in 3 different sizes, in 3 different greens! I added a strip of embossed leaves white card, which I distressed with 3 different green inks, and journalled in the open space in white. I added some stickles on my trees, and viola! A new layout of my son! I hope you enjoy the layout!
