Been gone for what seems like FOREVER~

Hey Ccubed fans, I apologize about the delay. Sometimes life gets the better of us ya know? I was in the hospital for half of january and most of february, so I definitely was absent from my blog. Prior to that I was dealing with the emotions of my surgery, and that left me in a bit of a funk. Not in a crafty mood and grumpy, I closed the door on my scrapbooking room and walked away. It didn’t help we were trying to sell our house, and keep it up to snuff for showings! Well it didn’t sell, the market is tough right now I guess. So after surgery, and nearly dying and finally feeling like me again, I am back to crafting YIPPPPPPPPPEEEEEEE!!!!! What better way to get back into it than visiting my favorite site : http://dailydare4u.blogspot.com/ for some inspiration 🙂 I found the following challenges there, that I want to try today! 🙂

http://365cards.blogspot.com/ challenges 3 flourishes

I am thinking that I will start with that, and edit if I end up doing more!

Happy Love Day

Another week, another challenge, this one is all about love! I didn’t do your typical valentines day colours with this one, as I plan on making 9 more and having my son sign them to give out to his 4 year old preschool class!

I used cuttlebug, and a sizzix heart embossing folder that goes perfectly with Stampin Ups set Love you Much, then punched a few hearts with the coordinating punch, and used my adorable image from AiFactory!! Those two kids are just too cute!

Enjoy, and below my card are the details of our challenges and how you can win this adorable stamp!

Feeling blue? or brown?

It’s another challenge over at AiFactory, and todays challenge was blue and brown. We were given this adorable farmer to create with! I coloured him/her with my copics… then I cut a strip of blue cardstock to match, and punched it with my martha stewart chicks punch. I then stamped my sentiment in chocolate brown, and thoght it was funny that it says “Howdy Peeps” and whenever I see baby chicks, I think of the Easter candy “peeps”.. I punched the sentiment out with my stampin up scalloped oval. Please join us in this brown and blue challenge, we’d love to see what you create! Here are the details along with my card :

Well I have been selected to be part of AI Factory’s design team! I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to join this amazing talented group!! I am so excited to share my creations with you!!

The first challenge is Back to School themed, and AI Factory has some great Back to School images, you can purchase them here :

http://aivault.com/store the 2 I chose, worked SO perfect for the theme. I love the way that the card turned out. I chose 2 of the new back to school images, and coloured them with my copics, I then cut them out and stamped the word school on the lil’ guys sign! I used REAL RED stampin up paper as my base, and DCWV gradeschool stack as my patterned paper! I used my threading water punch to punch a strip of green, added some bling, and I then hand doodled some white stitching on the outter edges! I hope you like it!  Our challenge blog can be found here:  http://www.aifactorychallenges.blogspot.com/ please join us, and play along to win this week’s image and upload their entries. Not crafted related!

Sorry folks.. I am unable to concetrate on anything crafty today! Why you might ask? Cos I am going to Bon Jovi this evening! I am soooooooo excited! My inlaws are watching my kids, and my husband and I are headed with our best friends Andrew and Liette, to the concert! I won them tickets on the radio.. our seats, we paid for..so they are a bit better. I am just so excited they can come! I tried everyday forEVER to win them tickets..then on an unexpected day, I knew the trivia question answer, and boom! Won the tix! Awesomeness! I am hoping it will be a great show (as all other 38 of them I have been to have been) and that Jon’s torn calf muscle doesn’t hinder his performance too much! SOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED! It’s only 2pm, and my husband won’t be home for 4 more hours…this is torture for me folks..if only you knew! LOL! 🙂  Keep the Faith

C-Cubed 🙂  soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited…lol

V is for Vintage

http://www.abc-challenge.blogspot.com has a V for Vintage challenge.. I am not one that normally does vintage..so please be nice!! LOL!! 🙂 *Grin*.. I did actually have fun doing this challenge tho! I think it has a nice vintage feel to it! Ok so details on my card.. here goes! I started with a kraft coloured card base, then went in search of vintage papers! (I have more paper than I do anything else in my room…lol so there was bound to be a few sheets of something vintage!) I came across DCWV new Mariposa stack and thought these butterflies appeared quite vintage. So I cut a piece (eeks, I hate cutting into a new paper pack and using it! Dont you? 😉 ) to fit almost entirely over my card front, leaving about half a centimeter of kraft poking thru. Then I found a scrap of turquoise that matched some of the butterflies, edged it with my martha stewart scalloped punch, and adhered it to my card. I then added some “vintage” (thrift store) lace in a kraft type colour. Then I had a gorgeous glittery prima in a rich orange, and a pretty brown flower gem to accent the card. Now I didn’t know I even had this butterfly stamp til I was rooting thru my drawers trying to find a different butterfly, but she is sure perfect. I coloured her with copics, and accented with gold stickles to go with the paper’s gold glitter accents. Then I used a stampin up punch, and short and sweet, and adhered those to my card as well! It looks vintage to me! Let me know if I can attempt this again, as I’m not sure if it’s good or bad! 🙂 Thanks for the feedback, it means a lot to me as a crafter and a person!

2 for 1 again..as running outta time!

http://colourcreatechallenge.blogspot.com has a soft green and aqua challenge.. love this combo..in fact, my bedroom has these colours. I have aqua (robin’s egg blue) walls, and soft green and turquoise bedding! How fitting of a challenge to be those colours!

http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com has a beautiful sketch!

As I was running short on time (as always as a stay at home mom!), I combined the two. Perfect! So I had recently purchased this adorable Penny Johnson stamp, called sweet dreams! I had to use her, since she is just tooo cute! so I stamped her, and coloured her with copics! I then made a card base of aqua, and matted on some soft green. I stamped stars in sage shadow, from stampin up. Oh the stars are also stampin up..basic backgrounds. Not sure how old that set is, but it was one of my first ones ever! LOL! Anyhow, so I also inked my edges of the paper. Then I added a square of pretty patterened paper, blue rasberry blossoms by fresh print. I then added my pretty coloured stamp image to my card. I traced the outline with Eucalyptus stickles, and coloured in the moon and stars with stardust stickles (how fitting!). Then I adhered these gorgeous gem flourishes I found at the dollar store today! Then finally I stamped “Keep your Sparkle” in sage shadow, and punched it out with my oval stampin up punch and traced it with stickles too! There ya have it..2 for 1! I seem to be mastering this combination thing! Feed back is always appreciated and loved!
Thanks for stopping in, and have a lovely Thursday!
