3 for 1 :)

http://www.2sketches4you.blogspot.com/ has an awesome sketch by Laura this week…and the winner gets a spot on the design team..omg, how exciting would that be?! 🙂 http://critterchallengeblog.blogspot.com/ has a THANK YOU card challenge and finally http://www.cupcakecraftchallenges.blogspot.com/ challenges us to use acetate!

Ok so here is my what I did for my card! And I must say, I am very pleased with the result! I first took my cricut, and cut out a 3 inch circle from George and stamped a C.C. Designs stamp, Heidi on the circle. I set to work to colour her (I figured I would figure out papers after colouring!) and used my copics (of course lol 😉 )! I then restamped her using black Staz On onto acetate. Now here is where I did something different..I adhered her wings using glossy accents UNDER the acetate, to give it dimension, then added for a bit of shimmer..a tiny bit of Opalite re-inker in Orchid Ice on the tips of her wings! SOOOOOOOOOO pretty lemme tell ya..I wish the camera picked up the shimmer. Then I cut my card base from Baja Breeze by Stampin Up. I inked the edges in Pink Pirouette, then adhered a piece of patterned paper from DCWV Sweet stack. I then added the ribbon, and my stamped image. It was still missing something, oh ya..the sentiment, so I added it from my fave stamp set, Short & Sweet, in magenta ink, and added a bit of distressed inking to the edges using my memento ink. Then I thought, well its still missing something, but what… BLINNNNNNNNG! So I added 2 little blue gems to bring out the blue of the paper in the background of the card, and added 2 little gems in each of her pony tails! FUN! I love this card, and think it is soooooo cute, and one of my best!! I hope you like it as much as I do! Have a wonderful day! PS I flipped Laura’s sketch sideways for my card! Hope thats ok!!!!!

2 for 1 again..as running outta time!

http://colourcreatechallenge.blogspot.com has a soft green and aqua challenge.. love this combo..in fact, my bedroom has these colours. I have aqua (robin’s egg blue) walls, and soft green and turquoise bedding! How fitting of a challenge to be those colours!

http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com has a beautiful sketch!

As I was running short on time (as always as a stay at home mom!), I combined the two. Perfect! So I had recently purchased this adorable Penny Johnson stamp, called sweet dreams! I had to use her, since she is just tooo cute! so I stamped her, and coloured her with copics! I then made a card base of aqua, and matted on some soft green. I stamped stars in sage shadow, from stampin up. Oh the stars are also stampin up..basic backgrounds. Not sure how old that set is, but it was one of my first ones ever! LOL! Anyhow, so I also inked my edges of the paper. Then I added a square of pretty patterened paper, blue rasberry blossoms by fresh print. I then added my pretty coloured stamp image to my card. I traced the outline with Eucalyptus stickles, and coloured in the moon and stars with stardust stickles (how fitting!). Then I adhered these gorgeous gem flourishes I found at the dollar store today! Then finally I stamped “Keep your Sparkle” in sage shadow, and punched it out with my oval stampin up punch and traced it with stickles too! There ya have it..2 for 1! I seem to be mastering this combination thing! Feed back is always appreciated and loved!
Thanks for stopping in, and have a lovely Thursday!

When time is not your friend, 2 challenges in one card!!

Sometimes I find I dont have enough time in the day to do more than one challenge! That is a joy of having children that either need a diaper, a bottle, or a cuddle..or sometimes in my son’s case a puzzle afternoon, and my daughter the bottle, diaper and cuddle! So on those busy days, I try and combine the challenges I can! Today I went over to the  http://colorthrowdown.blogspot.com  where I discovered the colours were : pink pirouette, melon mambo and baja breeze! Looked fun and exciting 🙂  Then I mosied on over to http://www.cricutcardzchallenge.blogspot.com which was a  new place for me to visit. The challenge # 25,was to make a card with a bird or a butterfly using any cartridges, colors or theme you’d like. So since I could combine the two, thats what I did!!

Here are the details. I took a piece of what looked like baja breeze (Really just cardstock from my scrap stash!), and made a 6×6 card. Then I took some pink pirouette paper and edged it with my loopy martha stewart craft punch. I adhered some polkadot ribbon to the pink, and to that a melon mambo scalloped circle. Then I cut my bird from my home decor cricut cartridge, and added some bling, and hand stitching and doodling! I had an imaginisce stamp that said so tweet, so I practiced writing like that, and added the word “you”. Then I took my scallop oval punch from stampin out and stamped the word Friend on it in baja breeze using A Little Somethin’ hostess set. I distressed the edges in baja breeze too! Hope you like the card! Thanks for looking!

Two for Tuesday! In one card!

http://artfulinkables.blogspot.com has a recipe challenge, 3 buttons, 2 pieces of ribbon, and a circle!

http://colourq.blogspot.com has a colour challenge of kiwi kiss, groovy guava, kraft, basic black and vanilla.

So what did I do with those two challenges? I combined them!! I first took my magnolia image, and picked out copic markers really close to kiwi kiss, and groovy guava.. I then set off colouring! I love to colour it really is so relaxing!! Then I used the negative image from a marquee I had cut out of Kraft cardstock, using Mothers Day 2010 Cricut Cartridge. I layered Vanilla paper behind the marquee, then green lace ribbon on the outer edges. I then stamped smile on kraft, in black and cut it out with the martha stewart scalloped circle. It was missing something, so I added a circle of bling! Then I used a black, guava and vanilla ribbon, and 3 green buttons. I think it meets all the goals of the 2 challenges!! Oh and I used my spica pens in the balloons for a bit of sparkle, and her boots are kraft with glitter! FUN!

I hope you enjoy this CCubed creation, it was so fun for me! And the colours were out of my norm, so definately a challenge!!
