http://www.2sketches4you.blogspot.com/ combined with http://offthewallcraftiness.blogspot.com/2010/07/otwc-challenge-14.html for my first card of the day. I searched and searched for some pattern paper in either navy or fuschia. Me, a pink lover, didn’t have any fuschia that struck my fancy…so I decided to create my own patterned paper. I found a square of KI Memories daisy doodle in my scrap bin, and coloured the flowers in with my fuschia copics.. woohoo for being creative today! Then I used a piece of navy cardstock from DCWV latte matte stack, and then layered on my stamped deer, from Technique Tuesdays OH DEER set. I coloured her with my copics too, and added some stickles to her spots. Then I added some gems on either side of the mounted image to mimic the sketch! I stamped “Stop and smell the flowers” as I thought it was applicable, due to the background being flowers! Thanks for stopping in and seeing this C-Cubed Creation 🙂 Please, feedback is always welcome!! PS the sketch I used by Kazan is in the previous post, along with Kelly Jo’s inspiration for colour! Thanks
http://www.abc-challenge.blogspot.com has a V for Vintage challenge.. I am not one that normally does vintage..so please be nice!! LOL!! 🙂 *Grin*.. I did actually have fun doing this challenge tho! I think it has a nice vintage feel to it! Ok so details on my card.. here goes! I started with a kraft coloured card base, then went in search of vintage papers! (I have more paper than I do anything else in my room…lol so there was bound to be a few sheets of something vintage!) I came across DCWV new Mariposa stack and thought these butterflies appeared quite vintage. So I cut a piece (eeks, I hate cutting into a new paper pack and using it! Dont you? 😉 ) to fit almost entirely over my card front, leaving about half a centimeter of kraft poking thru. Then I found a scrap of turquoise that matched some of the butterflies, edged it with my martha stewart scalloped punch, and adhered it to my card. I then added some “vintage” (thrift store) lace in a kraft type colour. Then I had a gorgeous glittery prima in a rich orange, and a pretty brown flower gem to accent the card. Now I didn’t know I even had this butterfly stamp til I was rooting thru my drawers trying to find a different butterfly, but she is sure perfect. I coloured her with copics, and accented with gold stickles to go with the paper’s gold glitter accents. Then I used a stampin up punch, and short and sweet, and adhered those to my card as well! It looks vintage to me! Let me know if I can attempt this again, as I’m not sure if it’s good or bad! 🙂 Thanks for the feedback, it means a lot to me as a crafter and a person!
http://www.kjsstamppad.blogspot.com/ Color Chef Challenge #51 Bamboo (tan), tulip (light red), black!
Here is what I came up with..rather simple but fun! I stamped my hippo (from Paper works Co.) in memento black, on a tan scallopped circle, and coloured her in with R29, and R27 in my copic collection…I then thought she needed something, so I added nail polish to her toes by way of Star dust Stickles! Then I found some ribbon scraps that were too pretty to toss, and made them criss cross on my card. I distressed my scallopped circle in Ruby Red by stampin up, and my sentiment is from the sale-abration event, Whimsical Words! It is a simple yet cute card I think! What do you think? 🙂
